The First State National Park honors
Delaware as the first state to ratify the Constitution. The park consists of seven sites in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties. Visitors should check the
National Park Service Website for more information. The closest interstate to this area is
Interstate 95. The
Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Watertrails Network contains over 170 parks. The area includes museums, hiking trails, parks and water activities.
The
Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail covers five states and DC. The trail pays homage to John Smith and his men who mapped out over 3,000 miles of the area. A myriad of water activities is available in the area.The Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail travels through nine states and DC. The trail crosses the northern tip of the state.
